Kingdom Life Church
What is Kingdom Life Church?
Kingdom Life Churches (KLC) are local gatherings of church family members looking to live out the Gospel in community. We have an emphasis on discipleship, seeing people growing in maturity and released to represent the Kingdom, wherever God has called them. We are dedicated to seeing true shepherding in the church, to see that the broken are healed, nourished, restored and become warriors for Christ. We are also committed to learning what it means to truly be family, living in relationship and being ‘known’ by one another. We sum it up by saying that we aim to raise believers that:
- Love God
- Love each other
- Know God
- Live for God
- Demonstrate God
What to Expect from a Kingdom Life Church (KLC) Gathering
First of all, you can expect a warm welcome from the KLC family! We love to meet new people whether you’re currently a follower of Jesus or not. You are most welcome to join us. At our gatherings, it’ll be easy to spot who’s who because all KLC Family members will be wearing badges. Anyone present at our gathering without is badge can be considered to be a visitor and not part of the KLC Family. It’s just so you know the difference when you come along.
Worship… More than a song
We are unapologetic in our worship!
We want to be free in expressing love, joy, and adoration for the Lord. You may see people being quite loud and vocal, either in English or another language given by the Spirit (speaking in tongues). Sometimes, worshipful expressions can involve being still and quiet. We also like to involve our physical frame in worship so you may see people standing, jumping, sitting, or kneeling.
We do use instruments and have set communal songs like most churches. However, we also have times when we worship without music or a song list. We often begin by simply opening our mouths to give the Lord praise. Sometimes, this may be all that we do as we move collectively into communion with Him.
This is because we believe praise and worship is more than a song. It must come from within as a direct response to the understanding and revelation of who God is.
We all have something to bring
We tend to call our meetings ‘gatherings’ rather than ‘services’. This is because our gatherings aren’t necessarily based on following the same routine day after day, week after week. We do make plans for our gatherings, but ultimately when we gather with God and with each other, He is our timetable and His will is our agenda. So, we come ready that should He take us in a different direction, we are willing to follow.
In 1 Corinthians 12, the Bible says that when the believers gathered together, they would come with different spiritual gifts. Those gifts were supposed to be used in the gathering to build up the others that were present. This is something we very much try to model. We make space in our gatherings for everyone in the KLC Family to share what the Lord may be giving to them. For the sake of accountability, we generally tend to restrict this to those who are part of KLC (the KLC Family). This is because we disciple them in how to use their gifts and minister to others in a way that is healthy and God-honouring.
Our gatherings are a space where there are more mature believers who can weigh, test and give instruction so that everything is done in a way the glorifies God and edifies the Church.
Preaching and teaching
As part of our gatherings, we normally have a form of preaching or teaching shared in line with the topic that is our current collective focus. Often this will be by one of the leaders of KLC, but could also be by other KLC family members who have shown that they are ready and able to deliver the Word in this type of setting.
Prayer
We like to offer prayer to those who would like it and are happy to pray concerning your requests. This includes ministering prayers of freedom, for those who may be subject to ongoing feelings or experiences of oppression or torment. If people are only comfortable receiving prayer from those of the same sex, then this is something we will work to accommodate.
We may ask people if they would like to receive prayer and people are free to accept or refuse the offer. Where children are present with adults, we’ll always ask the adult’s permission and ensure that the adult is present for any ministry given to that child.
All KLC Family members are trained in how to minister prayer.
Offering
We may take an offering during the gathering. There is no compulsion to give, but anything you may choose to give is gratefully received.
KLC Family and Community Gatherings
We gather online, in homes, and in public spaces. We may go out together for discipleship sessions, prayer walks/evangelism or visit and connect with wider Christian communities/ministries.
